Ribbon Cutting and Welcome Reception for ACT

SwedishAmerican Health System will hold a ribbon cutting and reception for the staff of ACT Medical Group on Thursday, June 24, at 12:30 p.m. ACT Medical Group, located at 2423 McFarland Road in Rockford, was recently acquired by SwedishAmerican.
The free-standing Cancer treatment center, which was opened in 2002 by medical oncologist, Dr. Bill Edwards, also includes nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and radiation technologists.
ACT Medical Group is being integrated into SwedishAmerican’s own Regional Cancer Center and the SwedishAmerican Medical Group. It is now known as SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center/ACT.
Dr. Bill Gorski, President and CEO for SwedishAmerican, Rich Walsh, Chief Operating Officer, Don Daniels, VP, Medical Group, and Dr. Edwards and staff will participate in the Ribbon Cutting.
The Regional Cancer Center at SwedishAmerican is among an elite group of cancer programs nationwide to receive Approval with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons’ (ACoS) Commission on Cancer, which recognizes cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to patients and their families.
