SwedishAmerican Appoints First Female Medical Staff President

June 25, 2010

Sara Fleming, MD, chairman of the pathology department, has become SwedishAmerican Health System’s first female president of the medical staff. Dr. Fleming has been with SwedishAmerican since 1998. She will serve a two year term. Her responsibilities as medical staff president include representing the medical staff at the hospital’s board of trustee meetings.

Other officers installed at the Quarterly Staff Meeting of the Medical Staff include: Frank Bonelli, radiologist, 1st Vice President; John Shiro, MD, anesthesiologist, 2nd Vice President; Warren Lowry, urologist, Secretary/Treasurer; and Allen William, MD, internist, Immediate Past President.
