PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency

The PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Swedish American Hospital is an individualized training program designed to develop competent, independent practitioners able to provide comprehensive direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. The program consists of 12 month long learning experiences and several longitudinal experiences. Upon completion of the program each resident will be prepared to enter a PGY2 program or clinical position and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual Stipend: $40,000
  • Annual Leave: 8.62 hours per pay period for an annual accumulation of 224 hours
  • Clinical Pharmacy Staffing: Every other weekend, 2 holidays

  • Presentations to hospital staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for Illinois licensure
  • US Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
