CAREER DEVELOPMENT

PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at SwedishAmerican Hospital is an individualized training program designed to develop competent, independent practitioners who provide comprehensive, direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. The program consists of 12 month-long learning experiences and several longitudinal experiences. Upon completion of the program, each resident will be prepared to enter a PGY2 program or clinical position and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual Stipend: $40,000
  • Annual Leave: 8.62 hours per pay period for an annual accumulation of 224 hours
  • Staffing: Every other weekend, 2 holidays

  • Optional teaching certificate

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for Illinois licensure
  • US Citizen or permanent resident of the United States

  3. Standardized Reference Templates completed by three reference writers
  4. Official pharmacy school transcripts
  5. Onsite interview required
