Our Provider Recruitment Team
The Physician Resource Center is the hub of physician and advanced practice provider recruitment and retention at SwedishAmerican Health System.
The Physician Resource Center directs provider recruitment for SwedishAmerican Medical Group, and provides recruitment support to non-employed physicians who maintain active staff membership at SwedishAmerican Hospital. From long-range planning, candidate sourcing, and interviewing; to orientation, start-up marketing, and retention initiatives, the Physician Resource Center in-house recruiters coordinate all aspects of provider recruitment.
Our physician recruiters are experts on SwedishAmerican Health System and lifelong residents of the Rockford community. They have familiarity with the housing market, first-hand experience with both public and private schools, involvement in the arts and music scene, and experience raising families in Rockford. With their experience and expertise, they focus on finding the right candidate for each position they represent.
As a member of the senior leadership team at SwedishAmerican, Julia directs long-range strategic planning for physician services including physician recruitment and retention. After nine years in the staffing industry, she joined SwedishAmerican in 1991. In 1993, she directed the development of SwedishAmerican Medical Group and provides executive management for SAMG’s 140+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers.

Julia is also responsible for the development and implementation of regional growth and strategic partnerships within the primary service area of SwedishAmerican Health System. With the strength of SwedishAmerican Medical Group, Julia fosters opportunities for expanding healthcare services to the people, businesses, and communities in Winnebago, Boone, and Ogle Counties.
Julia is a native of Rockford and holds a BA from University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a member of Medical Group Management Association, American Medical Group Management, and the National Association of Physician Recruiters. She has three children who have attended both public and parochial schools including Boylan Catholic High School, Rockford Public Schools Gifted Program, and Marsh Elementary. Julia volunteers with the YMCA of Rock River Valley and is a member of the Rockford Public School Golden Apple Committee. She and her husband, Brad, stay very busy supporting their kids in sports and school activities, and in her spare time, Julia enjoys gardening and working out at the YMCA and Peak Fitness.
Barb joined SwedishAmerican and the Physician Resource Center in 1993 after spending 12 years at home with her children. She has served as the physician resource supervisor since 2002 and oversees provider recruitment, start-up planning, and orientation. She also coordinates physician marketing and special events. Barb graduated from Rock Valley College in Rockford and is a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters.

Barb was born in Mason City, Iowa, but has lived in Rockford since 1968 and considers it home. She has two sons who graduated from Rockford's Auburn High School Gifted Academy and Rock Valley College. One son is now completing his electrical engineering degree at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL while teaching part-time at Rock Valley. The other is a cariology fellow at University of Illinois - Chicago. In her spare time, Barb enjoys gardening, walking her three-legged German Shepherd, listening to live music at local venues, and traveling.
Robin has been with SwedishAmerican since 1996 and joined the Physician Resource Center in 2000. She is responsible for physician recruitment and also coordinates locum tenens coverage for SwedishAmerican Medical Group physicians and clinics. Robin also serves as the Physician Resource liaison to SwedishAmerican's family medicine residents at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.

Robin was born and raised in Rockford and is a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She also graduated from Rock Valley College and has three children who have attended a variety of schools including Rockford Christian High School, Rockford Environment & Science Academy, and Harlem School District's Performing Arts Program. She and her husband, Scott, also a long-time SwedishAmerican employee, enjoy tropical vacations, spending time with their children, and dining out at the great restaurants in Rockford and nearby Chicago.
